The Ranch Facility Stepping Up Program
Aged Out Foster Kids & Other at-risk Children The foster care system does not support youths once they turn 18 years of age. Once they “age out” of the system they are forced to fend for themselves and face daunting emotional and financial obstacles as they attempt to make this difficult transition on their own. Shining Star Kids has designed the “Stepping Up Program” to be instrumental in guiding these young adults through continued education, career and job placement and basic life skills training.

As they approach this turning point, each youth has an opportunity to participate in the construction process of the extending housing program working with Habitat for Humanity to construct the Eco bungalows they can live in until the age of 21.
